Release Discriptions:

LA QUIETE/LOUISE CYPHRE - split CD
An absurd team up of two unreal European bands. Featuring members of Raein, Italy's La Quiete contribute four tracks of melodic, yet distraught screamy hardcore. Their sound harks back to the early 90's emo scene of bands like Mohinder, Inkwell, and Frail. On the flip side is Germany's Louise Cyphre, who's sound is along the lines of the breakneck insanity that Usurp Synapse, Jeromes Dream, and Page Ninety Nine brought to the mix in the late 90's. Crazy change ups, and guitar tones similiar to Daughters and The Dillinger Escape Plan. Limited 10" vinyl version to follow. (Electric Human Project #33)

THE SETUP/SCHEMATIC OF A WAKING LIFE - split LP
Finally available on LP!! Richmond, Virginia's the Setup blast through thirteen minutes of their hardest offerings to date. Combining elements of hardcore, punk rock, and straight up metal, these southern boys detonate chunky guitar riffs that would make any early Metalica fan go nuts with collapsing vocals. The results? An overly aggresive and sadistic composition for fans of everything from Converge to Tragedy. Features Chris Kirby from Light The Fuse And Run on guitar. Schematic Of A Waking Life lay down four tracks of post hardcore perfection. Songs suggestive of a DC sound from the 1990's brewed with the updated offerings of Hot Cross and Off Minor. These new englanders manage to be melodic and cathcy without loosing their frantic edge. This split, the bands follow up to their CDep Cinders And Seeds on Bug Empire, takes everything up a notch. Desperate and controlled. Passionate and angry. (Electric Human Project #26)

CARRIER - Heart And Arms CD
Carrier's six song debut CD is awash with melody, urgency, and upbeat guitar lines not unlink Modest Mouse, Built To Spill, and others in that avenue. Featuring Hrishikesh Hirway of The One Am Radio on drums, Carrier mingle light hearted indie rock and dub influences, with echoes of Animal Collective and The Talking Heads floating somewhere in the background. All the things that take most bands of this genre three or four releases to acomplish are layed out in these six songs. (Electric Human Project #30)

EL BUZZARD - Tranquilizante Del Elephante CD/10"
The latest rumblings felt in California, crushing homes and sending school children under their desks is not another West Coast earthquake. Its the devestation coming from the amps of El Buzzard! Featuring ex members of Californian legends Mohinder and Duster, El Buzzard blare out monsterous riffs and a "fuck this shit" attitude, building some of the most cataclysmic and lumbering sounds heard since the hay day of the Melvins. This six song release, with the befitting title of Tranquilizante Del Elephante (lephant tranquilizer) is a follow up to the bands self released, self titled CD which recieved praise from publications such as Alternative Press magazine. El Buzzard pound their instruments into submission, every once in a while allowing them to spew out a contorted Jesus Lizard or Orange Goblin inspired sound, layered in impurity. One listen and you will be done. The CD version contains a video for the song "Pilar of Fire". (Electric Human Project #25)

A TRILLION BARNACLE LAPSE - A Cruise In Heaven CD
A Trillion Barnacle Lapse have constantly been expanding their musical ground ever since their inception in 2000. With two full lengths already under their belt, and some recent member changes, Rhode Island's A Trillion Barnacle Lapse have grown into something that their previous records on Level Plane and Sound Virus only hinted at. A Cruise In Heaven is a 10 song opus, clocking in at 40 minutes, that intermingles dense guitar work with suave keys and drumming that is both live and programmed. With vocals parallel to Robert Smith's of the Cure, and the musical ability to both sooth and storm, fans of Echo And The Bunnymen, Love And Rockets, and New Order will all find reasons to enduldge in A Trillion Barnacle Lapse's latest work. Keep in mind though that A Trillion Barnacle Lapse are not rehashing any stlye of '80s pop, but instead they are reconstructing it with punk rock motivations. Like the Faint, Radiohead, and the Birthday Party merging into one entity at some nocturnal gala. (Electric Human Project #28)

OTESANEK - debut CD
Right from the exquisite feedback and hellish vocal introduction, you know something doesn't feel quite right. Like oil is being pumped into your veins... and you know there is still a long, long way to go before its over. This is the debut of Otesanek. The band that will decay all senses until nothing is left of you but a pile of bones. These Philadelphians baptize the world with two tracks of gluttonous, overruling doom played slower then the second coming of jesus christ. Scattered guitar chords are struck with the force of colliding planets, all while the drums are being beaten rather than played. The duel vocals ring in like the shouts of tortured souls, bellowing from the darkest places anyone could imagine. If you hate Earth, Boris, Khanate, and Sunn o))), then you will despise otesanek. Two tracks, thirty minutes. Ex members of Puritan & Hassan I Sabbah. (Electric Human Project #27)

FUNERAL DINER/WELCOME THE PLAGUE YEAR - split 7"
There seem to be a horde of fucking bands these days that are described as "inspirational" and "passionate", but very few are as dynamic as the two represented on this 7". California's funeral diner execute another powerful track, adding this split to their long line of releaes which include several full lengths and splits with dead city, the Saddest Landscape, Staircase, and others. Welcome The Plague Year, featuring ex-members of Makara, You And I, Neil Perry, and Joshua Fit For Battle, debut their piercing and fierce style of hardcore inspired by everything from Uranus and One Eyed God Prophecy to City of Caterpillar and Circle Takes The Square. This is honestly a jaw dropping record with two heartfelt groups. (Electric Human Project #22)

WELCOME THE PLAGUE YEAR - debut LP
This record could well be called the soundtrack to a deteriorating American landscape. Welcome The Plague Year's debut full length is 8 tracks of graceful brutality dispersed over 40 minutes. Expanding on the foundation laid by their previous bands (Makara/You And I/Neil Perry/Joshua Fit For Battle), Welcome The Plague Year introduce new elements to a horrifically heavy sound base in crafting more texturally developed songs. Welcome The Plague Year travel seemlessly from one end of the volume scale to the other with both urgency and restraint all the while harnessing the familiar feelings of abandonment and hope. Layers of pummeling rythyms, driving guitars, moody melodies, and scathing vocal tantrums integrate with quiet and sometimes sparse soundscape to make this a powerful and truely unique record. (Electric Human Project #23)

SHIKARI/PHOENIX BODIES - split 7"
This is a match up not for the faint of heart! Shikari defend their title as the most insanely brutal band around with the two tracks etched into their side of this 7". The Netherland boys follow up their split with Seein' Red and the "Sead Men" 7" on Level Plane Records with some more absurd hardcore in the vein of Acme, Drift, and Sharazad. Like rabid dogs let out of a cage, their tunes are ferocious from the get go, and don't stop until blood is tasted. On the flip side is a triple helping of Indiana's Phoenix Bodies. Featuring ex-members of Mara'akate, the bodies lay down some over-the-top rock in the vein of local brethren Usurp Synapse and Racebannon with hints of giants such as the Locust and Discordance Axis. Some intense riffage and a muppets sample added for good measure of course! Just to fuck with you a tiny bit more, the covers for this record were designed in a psuedo 3d style, made to interact with the clear red records. Things should make more sense than this, but they just feel oh so good when they don't! (Electric Human Project #24)

THE SETUP/SCHEMATIC OF A WAKING LIFE - split CD
The LP version will be out in August/September. (Electric Human Project #26)

THE FLYING WORKER - A Collection CD
For those not yet familiar, be warned. The Flying Worker are a pure definition of discord. A commotion of manic guitars, demonic drumming, and bellowed vocals comparable to bands like Orchid, Reversal of Man, and Heroin. This three inch CD compiles the 10 tracks output by this French outfit on their demo, s/t 7", and splits with Seven Feet Four and the Death of Anna Karina. This collection will knock you on your ass, pick you up, and knock your right back down! Do yourself a favor and get this!! Description by Mike of EHP. (The Electric Human Project #20 CD)

DEADSERAPHIM - Discography CD
Deadseraphim played a key role in a time that was dominated by bands like Usurp Synapse, Neil Perry, Jeromes Dream, and many other shortlived, chaotic driven machines. Though only around from 2000-2002, they were still able to siphon twelve tracks of uncontrolled, reckless bedlam into minds everywhere. These tracks were released in the format of a s/t 7", split LP with Montcalm, and a split 7" with Drowning In Lethe. This discography brings them all together, along with five other previously unreleased live tracks, for the first time in CD format. Envision an amalgamation of Mohinder, Reversal Of Man, and You & I. Throbbing double bass, manic guitars, and songs that hurt like repeated stab wounds. This is Deadseraphim! (The Electric Human Project #21 CD)

DAUGHTERS - Canada Songs 12"
Daughters burst forth, middle fingers raised high, with an unreal debut twelve inch of merciless, grind-influenced screaming chaos. These songs combine so much so quickly that it's almost dizzying, but they somehow manage to hold it all together and still take it way up a notch. Immersed in a genre that's dangerously close to total overkill, Daughters are actually making technical and hectic music original again, flawlessly combining thunderous drums with inhumanly fast blasts, squealing high-pitched guitars (that can almost be mistaken for keyboards at times) and absolutely manic screams to create a new form of heavy music that's simply beyond description. Necessary noise interludes allow the listener to catch their breath before the cacophony continues, with breakdowns so huge that it's amazing the studio didn't collapse when the album was recorded. This all may sound like a bunch of grandiose hype, but we're dead serious. This album is absolutely amazing and could shake the foundation of heavy music as we know it. And for you record collecting nerds, the LP is pressed on three different colors (blue, yellow, and red). (Electric Human Project #18)

THE AVENGING DISCO GODFATHERS OF SOUL - The Ultimate... LP
The Avenging Disco Godfather Of Soul's The Ultimate In Authenticity And Musical Usefulness is just that. After, last year's LP, an all improvised LP entitled Experiments, and a Southastern US tour with Examination Of The ... and Daughters, The Avenging Disco Godfathers have brought us ten new tracks. A combination of metal, free jazz, electronics and pure melody make up the bulk of this release. They have matured and come into a sound all their own. A sound which is as unpredictable as it is intense. From the explosiveness of Mr. Skinny's drumming to the wall of fuzz produced by Professor Poison's bass lines, all emphasized by Bones's intricate guitar riffs, this release attacks from the opening track to the closing credits. Xylophones, electronic drums, and synthesizers are also a staple of this release. Once again, proving that The Avenging Disco Godfathers are not traditional in anyway. The new power trio, hardcore's worst enemy. Ex-members of Index For Potential Suicide and The Disease. (Electric Human Project #17)

FORCE FED GLASS - Discography CD
It's been a long time in the making, but its finally here! The Force Fed Glass discography CD! Forty-one tracks that total over one hour of fucking chaos! Included on this record are the songs from the demo, split 7"s with The Fall Of Leningrad & The Swarm, When Backs Are Turned, Knives Are Pulled full length, and a few comps. Plus unreleased live and studio tracks. Mind blowing blast beats, destructive guitar riffs, and distorted vocals that would destroy the average human's vocal chords. Members went on to form/join bands such as Converge, Light The Fuse and Run, Hassan I Sabbah, Daughters, and Blue/Green Heart. (Electric Human Project #14)

NEW TERROR CLASS - Did You Hear That We Fucked? LP
New Terror Class preserve the Kent, Ohio heritage with the ten tracks on their full length LP. Members of The Party Of Helicopters and Harriet The Spy combine dark keyboard elements and complex guitar work alongside plaintive vocals that alternate between spoken and screamed. A considerable amount of acid wit is also thrown into the songs, and this LP is the long awaited vinyl version of the CD that was released on Troubleman Unlimited many days ago. (Electric Human Project #13)

JOSHUA FIT FOR BATTLE - Bring Out Your Dead LP/CD
Bring Out Your Dead is an assembling of early, out of print Joshua Fit For Battle material. Recorded during the bands first two studio sessions in 1998 and 1999, these tracks originally appeared on split 7"s with Love Lost But Not Forgotten & All I Ask, a self titled 7", and the "How To Be A Hero" CD comp. JFFB exemplified the "screamo" genre, cooperating frantic guitars that go from chaotic to somber, with crazed duel vocals. Comparisons could be made to bands like Reversal Of Man, Uranus, and One Eyed God Prophecy. The vinyl version of this release is limited to 400 copies; all of which come in silk screened/hand stenciled envelopes, on assorted colored vinyl that plays from the inside out. (Electric Human Project #12)

SISSY SPACEK - Remove Control Whale 7"
Three new experimental fuckerys from California's Sissy Spacek. Sissy is the brain child of Hohn Weise, formally of Man Is The Bastard (Noise). These three tracks invade the brain, via the ear, twisting and poking once inside. Bipolar, experimental, and discordant grind-esque noise, which main goal is to afflict and crucify. In line with previous releases, this 7" is limited to 400 copies. (Electric Human Project #10)

BLACK LIPS - 7"
Five song seven inch from Atlanta's rowdiest, Black Lips. These guys have been banned from almost as many clubs as they have played! Stripped down, dirty, and primal punk rock and roll, with a youthful, deep dyed garage feeling. The trebly menace of early Cramps and The Dwarves mixed with noise, blues, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. After releasing a 7" on their own, and this 7", The Black Lips have signed to the legendary punk rock label Bomp. (Electric Human Project #9)

THE ONE AM RADIO - The Hum Of The Electric Air LP
Beautiful, melancholy lyrics and melodies characteristic of their previous records is still dominant on this release, but the band takes on new territory as well, for the first time using break beats, samples, and keyboards. The twelve tracks, though somewhat eclectic, all have a dark, wistful dreaminess, born from the night time drone of insects, power lines, and lightning storms, and contain the quiet, pastoral beauty of a dusk in July. The One AM Radio have several split EPs under their belt (Ted Leo, Jeromes Dream, The Wind Up Bird, Tracy Shedd), but this is their first full length album. (Electric Human Project #8)

THE BLUE HOUR - 7"
Debut release from Keith Vogalsong, AKA The Blue Hour. These two tracks were recorded by Keith in his bedroom, and borrow elements from Bright Eyes, Mogwai, and the likes, to produce dynamic and emotional results. The Blue Hour is a one man operation, but you will find soft vocals, spacey keyboards, reverberating guitars, drums, noise, and bass on both sides of this seven inch. 600 copies pressed, all on clear vinyl. (Electric Human Project #7)

PG. 99 - Document #8 10"
Virginia's PG. 99 harvest seven of their most heavy and haunting songs on this ten inch. The divine and disfigured are both represented on this, their most cruel document to date. PG.99 has made a name for themselves over the years, with several full U.S. tours and one through Europe, a wall of amps, and seven or eight dixie punks throwing their instruments and bodies all over the room. The whole time producing intelligent and brutal music. (Electric Human Project #5)
